Work And Volunteer
I've helped various organizations through paid and volunteer roles, picking up skills and insights while making meaningful contributions along the way.
Artificial Intelligence Engineer
Internship @ Pacific Technologies
- Present

I work within a distributed SAFe team, contributing to Data Science and Data Engineering tasks including data preprocessing exploratory data analysis feature engineering, model experimentation, and pipeline development.
Software Developer
Internship @ Oceanic Communications
-

I worked on a major client-facing project and three internal systems, contributing to post-launch work, internal tooling, and workflow automation. This involved shipping features, improving performance, and fixing issues.
I supported post-launch development and maintenance of the Fiji Rugby Union website. As part of this work, I implemented optimizations that increased overall site performance by ~10% and core web vitals by ~20%.
I contributed to various internal tools. I worked on an attendance and leave management app, helping digitize attendance workflows. I also developed integrations within Bitrix ERP, including a task timer and quality logger.
Machine Learning Engineer
Volunteer @ University of the South Pacific

I worked alongside mechanical and electrical engineering students in a robotics team for ABU Robocon 2026. I built a computer vision system based on YOLOv8 object detection and an EfficientNet classification.
I developed a symbol classification model using transfer learning with EfficientNet-B0. I created a binary classifier by applying data augmentation techniques and class weighting to handle dataset imbalance.
I developed an object detection model using YOLOv8 Nano for real-time box localization on scrolls. The model outputs bounding box coordinates and confidence scores, which feed directly into the classification pipeline.

I earned the All-Rounder PASS Leader Award for my work across the wider PASS programme. This included building an attendance app, supporting technical labs, and volunteering at major events such as USP Open Day.
I developed a mobile app for taking PASS attendance by scanning student ID cards. This completely eliminates the need for paper based attendance and is currently being implemented using a pilot approach in STEMP based courses.
I supported students during labs which were based on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. I guided students through network configuration, compute provisioning, system configuration and other cloud computing tasks.

I proudly represented the Computer Science and Information Systems department by architecting, implementing and demonstrating a serverless full-stack quote management web application.
I engaged with prospective students, explaining how frontends interact with backends and databases, and shared real-world insights on static websites vs. dynamic web applications.
I designed eye-catching flyers on popular video games and the modern technologies used to build them. I used Figma to design these flyers, blending creativity with my technical expertise.

I was honored with the Outstanding PASS Leader Award for my impact as a mentor. Afshana Anzeg, my supervisor, once said, “When I walked into your session, I couldn’t tell who the leader was,” reflecting on my leadership.
I introduced Dub.co for QR codes into the PASS programme to solve the previous issue of QR codes expiring. This in turn streamlined access to online communities and increased course penetration for CS140 by ~50%.
I created engaging and interactive worksheets, making use of resources like newsprint and markers. This fostered a collaborative environment and helped the students enjoy what is typically a boring theory course.

I heavily collaborated in a team of three peer mentors to design and deliver coding-based worksheets, with a focus on simplifying complex programming concepts to make them accessible for first-year students.
I regularly communicated with the course coordinator to review and refine worksheets, ensuring the materials aligned with course objectives and addressing student needs.
